You think AI is wonderful for humanity, you want AGI built, carefully, and you've never set up an agent.
You've never typed "agentic" without a little wince.
AI is in your docs and inbox daily. You brainstorm with Claude, use ChatGPT like a smarter Google, or lean on the assistant that knows the whole company wiki. You call it a co-intelligence that makes us better, a superpower, sometimes just "magic," and then get mad when the next update breaks your favorite feature. At 2am you ask it the big questions about consciousness.
Your opinions are enormous. AI is the next internet, the Great Renovation, or something that may become godlike, even divine, someday: "machines of loving grace" watching over us. You say "this is the worst it will ever be" weekly. Some of you say slowing down costs lives and the race with China is not one to lose. The measured among you say build AGI with sensible guardrails, let the labs get alignment right first, and make sure it serves people. That's still a yes.
You want AI to do the laundry so you can do art, and you want godlike intelligence to cure aging by 2045. Meanwhile the agent tutorials you bookmarked "for this weekend" have been there since spring.
You are not a doomer. You are not a builder. You are the world's most enthusiastic spectator, cheering the labs on from the stands with a ChatGPT subscription and quietly trusting someone else to get the alignment part right.
